Arte Charpentier Architectes participated in the International Park (ing) Day 2017 event.
During a day, the concreted spaces become places of committed, original, creative and ecological initiatives. Park (ing) Day is about sharing public space, imagining new urban uses and formulating proposals for the city of tomorrow!
Architects, interior architects, landscape architects and urban planner of Arte Charpentier question the use of public space at scale 1 in the Sentier and propose an ephemeral urban laboratory that deals transversally with the themes of reflection on the city of tomorrow: what place for pedestrians? for the plant? what is the relationship between the different uses of public space? what meetings between passers-by, inhabitants, workers? …
At the heart of one of the densest districts of Paris, representative of the urbanization of the world’s megacities, the installation proposed illustrates the problems of the place of the vegetable in the city, the reuse of materials and the appropriation of the spaces: structures in cardboard tubes, recycled wood, tinctorial plants, aromatic plants and other appropriate furniture are the pretext for an exchange with the inhabitants and occupants of the neighborhood, with and for whom the city of tomorrow is conceived in our trades.
