The Crédit Agricole Centre-Ouest building and grounds, designed in the 1970s by Henri Brigand et Pierre Souville, are undergoing refurbishment and renovation. The building’s architectural features are conserved and integrated, modernized and enhanced.
The effect of a dynamic urban sculpture is created by the composition of the solid base of the lower storeys facing Avenue Pierre de Coubertin, surmounted by the perpendicular prow-like volume of the upper part. Powerful in its simplicity, the building acts as an urban landmark rising above the rooftops of the surrounding residential district.
The refurbishment of facades, and the choice of new materials and colours improves the integration of the building in its setting. The treatment of external spaces is given particular attention, and a dialogue is created with corresponding interior spaces, such as the double-height entrance lobby, the management offices and circulation areas, through the articulation of transparency.
The assets of the existing building are enhanced and built upon to reinforce the image of Credit Agricole Centre-Ouest.
