Concept
The new service sector office building by Foster + Partners takes the form of a set of three buildings lining the Boulevard National at La Garennes-Colombes, on the western outskirts of Paris. Arte Charpentier was nominated execution architect.
The intrinsically modern design creates a backdrop to the large, new tree-lined boulevard instilling a contemporary dialogue between architecture and public space.
Program
The reconfiguration of Boulevard National and the urban renewal programme of the district accompanies the extension of the T2 tramline linking La Défense with Bezons to the west. The exceptional geographic location of the site along this route reinforces the project’ as the economic showcase of the district. The Belgique/National sector, within the Champs Philippe commercial area, comprises three zones: la Place de Belgique, Kléber and Barrilliet, within the urban renewal perimeter.
