Concept
This residential scheme, situated in the district of Wuchang in the Wuhan agglomeration, forms part of a vast programme of urban restructuring based on the conversion of a former television factory.
The project is organised around a central landscaped urban corridor which connects the different sectors by means of a plinth level which articulates the transition between public and private zones.
Three high-rise towers of 53 storeys (165m), 47 storeys (146m), and 40 storeys (131m), are orientated for maximise sun exposure, and their form is inspired by their immediate surroundings. The apartments all benefit from two or three external walls for natural ventilation and lighting, and have generous-sized balconies, loggias or terraces.
Program
The mixed programme includes apartments, offices, commercial units, a primary school, green spaces, a planted buffer zone, and a waste-sorting facility.
