Following a competition launched at the end of 2015 by Commerz Real, on behalf of the German HausInvest fund, Arte Charpentier Architectes’ interior design division was selected to rehabilitate the Palatin 2 and 3 buildings, near to La Défense esplanade, a previous project by the agency dating from 2005.
The project provides a new identity and gives the shared spaces a more welcoming character, offering an improved range of facilities for a better quality working environment.
The communal spaces give access to the company offices, but also provide areas for informal meetings, coworking, and a business centre.
These improvements ensure optimal working conditions and an increased level of comfort for staff and employees.
The cafeteria, welcoming up to 400 people a day, has been completely redesigned on the theme of ‘An invitation to travel’ and will offer a culinary experience and decor consistent with the proposed theme.
The agency’s landscape design team took care of the of the external spaces, entrance approaches, patios and areas around the perimeter of the building, with consideration being given to transitions between public and private spaces. Particular attention has been paid to increasing the biodiversity of the city.
