Concept
In 2015, Arte Charpentier’s interior design division were entrusted with the restoration of the hallways and stairways of ‘So Opéra’, a Haussmannian-period building in the heart of Paris. This remarkable piece of French architectural heritage has been returned to its former splendour with a new identity to match.
Program
Situated between Rue Boudreau and Square de l’Opéra Louis Jouvet in the 8th arrondissement, So Opéra benefits from an exceptional and prestigious architectural setting, where delicate touches are all it takes to bring out the inherent magical quality of the place. Arte Charpentier’s architectural restoration of two hallways creates an ambiance of luxury and calm, quiet assurance, suffused with a soft light which subtly enhances the ornamental architectural detailing. Mirrors heighten the sense of space and light without becoming distracting. The new mosaic floor, with its Parisian chic and contemporary design, inspired by the paved streets and mosaics on the upper floors, adds a delicate sparkle to the overall effect.
