Concept
As part of the development of the Dongsheng Technology Park in Beijing, the “Infinite and Boundless” project, designed by Arte Charpentier, offers a forward-looking exploration of research architecture in the age of artificial intelligence. The project involves a profound reimagining of the workspace by exploring the interplay between the virtual and physical worlds. The architectural approach is based on the concept of duality between “Online” spaces, dedicated to connected productivity, and “Offline” spaces, designed as places for respite and sensory inspiration.
The architectural design draws inspiration from the identity of the Haidian district, where global innovation meets the heritage of imperial landscapes. The project unfolds in two striking forms: to the south, the “Cloud Steps” create a landscape ascent via an infinite corridor connecting each level to nature; to the north, the “Data Mist” unfolds a modular structure whose façade evokes the rock walls of traditional Chinese gardens. By integrating central gardens and three-dimensional pathways, the campus asserts a unique identity—both technological and organic—offering a new vision of the workplace where human and artificial intelligence coexist in harmony with the environment.
