Represented by Ke Jing, Arte Charpentier was invited to celebrate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between France and China.

To mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the French Republic and the People’s Republic of China, a reception organized by the Consulate General of France in Wuhan was held on January 31.

The event was attended by Ms ZHANG Xiaomei, Director General of the Hubei Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, Mr YU Feng, Director General of the Wuhan City Foreign Affairs Office, Mr HUANG Yuanfeng, Mayor of Caidian District and Director of the Wuhan Franco-Chinese Sustainable City Management Committee, and numerous Chinese partners involved in bilateral cooperation in Central China.

On January 27 1964, the Quai d’Orsay and the Waijiaobu issued a joint communiqué: The Government of the French Republic and the Government of the People’s Republic of China have decided by mutual agreement to establish diplomatic relations. The Franco-Chinese relationship was elevated to the status of “comprehensive strategic partnership” in 2004. In addition to bilateral visits, a number of high-level dialogues between the French and Chinese authorities enable the full range of cooperation issues between France and China to be addressed: strategic dialogue, economic and financial dialogue, and dialogue on human exchanges. Since then, bilateral exchanges have continued to grow in all areas.
