To honour the visit of Wang Yuancheng, Deputy Mayor of the Wuhan Municipal People’s Government, a major event was held at the Hôtel du Collectionneur on Friday 31 May. The meeting brought together a number of Wuhan government officials and representatives of major French companies with a strong presence in the region. The day’s events focused on promoting economic, commercial, cultural and tourist exchanges between France and Wuhan, and also included a presentation of the sustainable Franco-Chinese city of Wuhan.

The project for this sustainable city, a major initiative in bilateral relations, was entrusted more than 10 years ago to our firm, Arte Charpentier, which has been active in China for more than 40 years. As lead urban planner on the Caidian eco-city project, Pierre Clément, a representative of our firm, played a key role in the development of this project.

One of the highlights of the day was the signing of a cooperation agreement between the French and Chinese partners, in particular between Pierre Clément, on behalf of Arte Charpentier, and the Caidian District. This agreement marks a significant stage in the strengthening of ties between France and China in terms of sustainable urban planning and ecological development.
