Concept
The architectural work on the reception hall and second floor of this building, the future home of the L’Oréal group hair-dressing school, was more than just interior design, involving demolition and reconstruction work in an occupied site. Our work enabled the transformation of a profession by implementing technical innovations, such as the first Baswaphon installation in Paris (a new acoustic technology with aesthetic qualities).
The new organisation of the space, scenography and layout of the project area reflect the culture and image of the L’Oréal group: transparency, elegance, luminosity and prestige. They enabled the restoration of previous volumes, particularly on the corner of rue Royale and rue Saint-Honoré.
Program
Renovation of the area destined to house the new L’Oréal hair-dressing academy on the second floor of a building dating back to the end of the 18th century, rue Royale in the Paris golden triangle, was carried out in collaboration with decorator Didier Gomez. This operation, a sizeable technical challenge, resulted in a prestigious volume, corresponding to the brand image of the L’Oréal group.
In 2010, we returned to the site to complete the project, renovating the entrance hall that was not part of the initial project.
This major renovation work consisted in restoring this noble floor of a Pre-Haussmann building, bringing back the large volumes that were reduced during the course of the last century, in particular by the addition of
mezzanines. This operation, in collaboration with heritage architects (restoration of the facade including eliminating blind casings, destruction of mezzanines visible from outside and renovation of original windows), restored the original characteristics of the building and ensures fluid transit around an indoor courtyard.
