Sigma Dijon, France

Concept

Near the historic center of Dijon, in the district of the train station, the Sigma tower is an office building built in 1974 by the architect H. Favre. The complex consists of two buildings: an 11-storey tower and a building in R+2 organized around an interior patio.

The project consists of rehabilitating the Sigma tower in order to adapt it to current uses, with a particular focus on energy performance. The rehabilitation introduces transparencies thanks to the architectural treatment of the facades, makes the accesses more legible and takes care of the landscaping.

The objective of the project is to restore a strong tertiary identity to the building which, thanks to its 360-degree panoramic view over the entire urban area, stands as a signal marking the entrance to the city.

"The tower today meets the challenges of energy transition, a fundamental factor in the construction process."

REPRESENTATIVE OFFICE – PEACE STREET

The project involves setting up the Paris representative office of a Swiss company specializing in trading in petroleum products.

The space has been arranged so as to favor the views and the use of terraces. Lacquer elements allow to reflect the light and project views on all sides of the meeting space.

The layout allows for two distinct workspaces while maintaining visual transparency. The choice of furniture contributes to establishing a friendly working atmosphere, in line with the identity and values of the company.

The space is divisible thanks to a set of electric blinds, also allowing to modulate the light variations of the two meeting spaces.

ENERGY REHABILITATION IN OCCUPIED SITE

The property complex blends harmoniously into a mixed district combining offices, businesses and residences. The project aims for an ambitious thermal renovation, with energy savings objectives by 2040, 2050 and 2060.

Our commitment goes beyond aesthetic considerations. With an improvement in energy performance of 60%, in line with the requirements of the tertiary decree, the facades will be equipped with prefabricated modules combining wood, zinc and high-performance glazing. Fixed brise-soleils, both functional and durable, will regulate natural light while effectively protecting from summer solar radiation.

Outside, a partial green cover, modernized fences, as well as charging stations for electric vehicles will contribute to renewing and enhancing the urban environment. It is not simply a renovation, but a rehabilitation respectful of the original identity of the building.

Each choice — from innovative materials to contemporary layouts—sets this project in a dynamic of sustainable transformation, making the building a truly living entity, fully integrated into the city.

Concept

A STRONG LANDSCAPE INTEGRATION

The terminal blends harmoniously with the natural topography, its compact massing preserving visual breakthroughs. Mainly on one level, it highlights the slope of the site and, like a deployed airplane wing, seems to be placed on the forecourt. Its corrugated roof gives the illusion of a building emerging from the ground.

The forecourt, mineral and vegetable, constitutes a functional and unifying pole, facilitating gentle access and the tram-train located in the South. The interior spaces, bright and modular thanks to transparent and flexible walls, express constructive clarity and the “truth of materials”.

Vegetation is integrated as a dynamic and identity component of the project. The artificial light, incorporated into the structure, creates, at night, a visible halo from the entrance of the site.

HOW TO TRANSFORM A TRANSPORT HUB INTO AN URBAN PLACE

The project seeks a harmonious transition of scale between the existing suburban fabric, to be preserved according to the PLU, and a new metropolitan dimension accompanying the arrival of the Grand Paris metro.

The requalification of public spaces combines the integration of a multimodal hub (M13, M15, bus station, cycle paths, Véligo) and the creation of a landscaped forecourt promoting daily urban life. This forecourt is based on:

  • a continuous floor, from facade to facade, promoting pedestrian flows;
  • a connection to the existing urban framework;
  • the integration of the plant and a permeable soil;
  • a framework of varied uses: terraces, market, carousel, food trucks, events.

Airport la Tontouta New-Caledonia, Nouméa

Concept

The terminal embodies a dual imaginary: that of departure or return to the country, and that of arrival in a mythical destination. Designed as a symbolic gateway to New Caledonia, it blends modernity and cultural roots, inspired by ritual totems and the entrance doors of traditional houses. The project is organized around a fluid axis connecting the city to the track, with transition spaces marked by lush gardens reflecting the local flora. Passengers pass through the existing building to access the new public hall, with its interior gardens, before reaching the city via a third garden, which respects the existing trees and extends the avenue of access.

WINNING PROJECT FOR EXTENSION OF THE NANCY STATION

The operation, consisting of a tertiary building and two public halls, extends the Nancy station with the arrival of the TGV-Est. Major project of the Republic site, it connects the spaces through a coherent organization and integrates harmoniously into an environment with a strong heritage character.

Two large windows ensure the connection: the Trains hall, between the station and Place Thiers, and the Tramways hall, integrating the new station as well as the service and commercial spaces.

The floors house offices. Combining silk-screened glass and limestone, the facade highlights local expertise. The transparency of the first levels makes activities visible and creates bright and welcoming spaces.

IMAGINE AN OPEN AND HARMONIOUS ARCHITECTURE

Located on the edge of the A86, this set adopts a rectangular plan structured around a central recess, inspired by ancient buildings.

The monumental fissure of the main facade reveals an elliptical landscaped patio, heart of the project and terrace of the company restaurant. Covered with exotic wood and planted with pine trees and perennials, it creates a friendly and bright space. Composed of two buildings with nine floors of offices, the complex includes a basement with a restaurant, meeting rooms and storerooms, as well as three levels of parking. Two main halls, to the north and south, mark the accesses and lead to an oval atrium, crossed by a footbridge.

VALUE TECHNICAL RESEARCH

Located in Minhang, southwest of Shanghai, the R&D center of Saint-Gobain is structured around two units: the showroom and the laboratories.

The showroom, comprising conference rooms, exhibition and reception areas, is distinguished by its curved glass facades on a light metal structure. The research and development spaces, spread over two levels on either side of an inner street under a glass roof, benefit from natural and zenith lighting. Natural materials dominate the interiors, connected by stairs in wood and metal. The complementarity between introverted spaces (on the inner walkway) and extraverted ones (on the garden) gives the project its originality and integration to the site.

CONSTRUCTION PROJECT OF BUILDING CHB1

The spatial organization offers optimal internal functionality, allowing a smooth flow of activities while preserving the tranquility of staff and patients. The hospital thus seeks harmonious connections with the city and its green spaces to accompany the patient.

This degree of openness makes the hospital a place of healing open to all, interconnected, in order to reconcile the image of the hospital with the collective imagination. A coexistence between sports equipment and public spaces of the hospital is proposed to affirm this mix of uses and strengthen these links.

Reception and circulation spaces combine multiple flows of communication and permeability between the services, while reconciling the needs for discretion and privacy.

A FRUGAL REHABILITATION ON A OCCUPIED SITE

At the heart of Le Raincy, this social housing and senior residence project illustrates the transformation of existing buildings towards carbon neutrality. The old vacant offices, built in 1957, are rehabilitated to accommodate housing adapted for elderly people.

Located in the heart of a block, within a dense urban fabric, the site required a major restructuring carried out on an occupied site, while maintaining the activity of the Orange premises.

The old shop on Allée Gambetta is converted into an extension of social housing, in the architectural continuity of neighboring buildings. A second extension, located at the alignment of Avenue de la Résistance, completes the built front and fills the existing hollow tooth.

Mercure and Ibis hotels France, Orly

Concept

The two hotels are part of a site bordered by the tramway and the fast lane leading to Orly airport. They each have their own architectural identity, while having as a common denominator a set of horizontals expressed through the volumes, the models or the lines present on the facade.

On the south side is the existing hotel Mercure, whose reception areas (lobby, restaurant, meeting rooms) are relocated in a new building located at the intersection of the future mail fitted out by A.D.P. and the line 7 of the tramway.

Behind its pure geometry and glass facade, the architecture of the place is thought as a breath in the airport territory. The hotel guests are welcomed in structured spaces around a central landscaped patio.

The three wings of the original building, intended for accommodation, are rehabilitated, and one of them is elevated.
